In 2024, we started Da Maurizio.
Once this was a wine farm but in the 80s a small campground was started. Before our arrival there were no activities for several years. On our first visit we knew immediately, life must come back to this place. So to work. And now we have a nice little campsite and 2 apartments where we can receive guests. We are a small family business so you meet us everywhere. We receive everyone personally and help everyone get around. We take care of the maintenance and that everything is clean. Of course there is always something to do for us but we also love to enjoy our place and the surroundings.

The surroundings of Da Maurizio are characterized by the vineyards. The view of our village of Castiglione Tinella is typical of the area. In the immediate vicinity you will find the villages of Castagnole delle Lanze, Neive, Nizza Monferrato, Asti and, of course, the truffle town of Alba. There are numerous opportunities for wine tastings at various wineries.
A few times a week, if there is sufficient interest, we organise a wine tasting. You can participate for a fee.
We work closely with our neighbour Simone Cerruti for this.
From the campsite, we walk to his vineyard, where the original Moscato grapes are grown. Upon our return, we taste a number of Simone’s delicious white and red wines in our tasting room. This is complemented by tasty snacks such as cheese, meat and local hazelnuts.
After the tasting, we regularly pick up pizzas in the village, so that after all those delicious flavours, you can relax and enjoy the afterglow at your pitch or in your apartment.
Furthermore, you can make beautiful walks or bike tours. Nearby you can also rent bikes that can be delivered to our place, allowing you to tour among the vines right from your tent or apartment. And of course you can go eat out in the best restaurants in the area. Full enjoyment.
The Pool
Our swimming pool is a non-heated outdoor pool.
The water temperature is around 16 degrees when it opens in the spring but can rise to 29 degrees in the summer. The size is 10 by 5 meters and the depth runs from 80cm at the stairs to 1.10m on the other side. Jumping and diving are therefore not allowed. A great pool to relax and enjoy the view on a hot day. Depending on the weather, the pool is open from May to September every day from 9:30 to 19:30.
In the winter of 2025/2026, we completely renovated our swimming pool and converted it into a saltwater pool.
